GAŠPEROV MLYN

At the end of the foothill village of Batizovce, directly below the peaks of the High Tatras lies a century-old and renovated mill. It has an old-world, even fairy-tale atmosphere, and just as the power of water and fire is omnipresent, the tradition of the miller’s craft and the processing of flax can also be felt. The played team of Gašperovho Mlyn consists of only six members. The kitchen is run by chef Jozef Breza, who emphasizes honest preparation, quality ingredients, balanced flavors and appearance of the food, which he often serves not only on the plate. He likes the dishes to be imaginative and made from parts of the ingredients that people nowadays use less often. The restaurant does not have an à la carte menu, but only offers a tasting menu, which changes from day to day, with which the sommeliers are happy to recommend a suitable wine. Since it is cooked here from fresh ingredients and always for a specific number of guests, a reservation must be made at least one day in advance, and the guests will learn the menu only on the spot. The miniature capacity of fifteen guests allows the chef, owners and staff to have personal contact with the guests.
