Villa Rosa is a romantic restaurant and guest house in Dunajská Streda, considered the capital of Rye Island, which attracts tourists with thermal water, clean Danube arms full of fish and plenty of wild game. The interior is dominated by wood and elements of the region’s architecture, which makes you feel at home. And we felt at home here, thanks mainly to the attentive staff, especially to chef Imre Bindics. Imre is known for searching for traditional recipes of Rye Island – he also published them in books – and including them in the restaurant’s menu. He chooses suppliers from local farmers, so it’s no wonder that the dishes are breathtaking and revive the good old tastes in us again. Farm rooster soup with vegetables and homemade noodles and crispy carp with dill pumpkin stew were exactly like that.
